"REV. MAX TUCKER"


     Rev. Max Tucker accepted Christ as his Savior, the first Tuesday in

August 1942 at the Stamp Baptist Church in Dekalb  County, Alabama.

    

     Later on, he accepted the call to the Gospel ministry in 1955 and was

licensed to the ministry, April 13, 1955, by the Second Baptist Church in

Ft. Payne, Alabama.  Rev. Tucker was ordained September 2nd, 1956 by

the Mount Olive Baptist Church, in Talladega, Alabama.

 

     Rev. Tucker became the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church of Talladega

from 1955-1960.  Later on, he became the pastor of Chandler Springs

Baptist Church in Talladega from 1961-1963.  After this, he became the

pastor of Second Baptist Church in Ft. Payne, the first Sunday in April

1963.  He continued his pastorate there until September 9th, 1964.  Rev.

Tucker became pastor of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church in Rome,

Georgia, the first Sunday in October 1964 and continued there until

April 25th, 1971, at which time, he once again, became pastor of Second

Baptist Church in Ft. Payne and continued there until December 30th,

1979.  Rev. Tucker accepted the pastorate at New Antioch Baptist

Church in Shannon, Georgia in 1979 and remained there until June 4th,

1995, at which time he retired. 

    

     For four years, Rev. Tucker did interim pastorates.  October 1st,

1999, Rev. Tucker came to Community Chapel Baptist Church in Rome,

Georgia as interim, then accepted the pastorate of the church after one

year.  He has been at Community Chapel Baptist Church until the

present time which is 2009. 

 

     Rev. Max Tucker has been married to Gaynell Eberhart of Ft. Payne

since December 25th, 1948.  They have four children, Samuel, Karen,

Joy and David, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
